Ice Cream Dessert Recipes

baked marzipan apples with vanilla ice cream

This is one of my favourite ice cream dessert recipes.
Baked marzipan apples with vanilla ice cream (you can of course choose any flavor ice cream).

It's really simple to make and the soft baked apples with the marzipan center are really great with all kinds of ice cream or you could try them with a sorbet.
Just serve them hot with your choice.

baked apples with marzipan
Ingredients: serves 6

6 apples
about 5 oz (150 g) marzipan
1½ oz (½ dl) breadcrumbs
1½ oz (½ dl)sugar
1½ egg whites

Method:

Peel the apples and remove the core.
Blend the egg whites with the marzipan to a smooth paste.
Fill the apples with the marzipan.
Mix the sugar with the breadcrumbs and roll the apples in the mixture, so they are completely covered.
Bake in a preheated oven at 400 F (200 C) for about 30 minutes (until light brown).
Serve immediatly with vanilla ice cream or any other ice cream of your choice.
