This is a good place to start before you begin your dessert adventures, especially if you’re new to this “game”.
Everybody and I do mean everybody can make a fantastic dessert…Yes that means you too!
What you need are the right tools, a good recipe, ingredients, patience and time.

Just Perfect!

Don’t you just hate it, when you think you’ve found the perfect recipe…and it doesn’t “work”. I know I do!

You’ve got everything planned out for your dinner party, you’ve been to the store and bought all the ingredients, and you might even have bought that special tool that was recommended in the recipe, ( you know what I mean…the one that you just can’t live without)!

Everything is just perfect and you begin to “create” your heavenly dessert.
Finished?…Ooops…What went wrong, it doesn’t look anything like the picture in the recipe!

You check the recipe, you double check , did you forget anything…No…you followed the steps laid out for you and it still didn’t work. This can be so frustrating and annoying, especially if your making dessert for a number of guests.

When making dessert, a small mistake can mean major disaster!
My best advice is to read the recipe before actually doing anything else, and if you have the time, make a small portion to test the recipe.

Only Human!

The desserts on this site are for all skilled levels, if you’re a “beginner” it might be a good idea to try the sorbets, granitas and the simple ice cream recipes (not the custard based ones), to “boost” you’re confidence.

Once you’ve got the hang of it, you can continue with the more demanding recipes. And don’t be afraid to make mistakes, (I still make mistakes, even though I’ve been doing this for years), after all…we are only human!
