Tasty Strawberry Ice Cream Recipes!

I just love strawberry ice cream!

I’ve tried several strawberry ice cream recipes. Strawberries have always been one of my favorite fruits.

This first recipe is a favorite of mine.
It’s just so simple to make and if you have strawberries in the freezer and an ice cream maker it’ll only take about 20-40 minutes to make.
Simply delicious!

Strawberry ice cream

Ingredients:

Serves 4
7 oz (200 grams) frozen strawberries
4 oz (125 grams) sugar
½ Polynesian (Tahitian) vanilla bean
¾ cup (200 ml) single (light) cream

(I always buy fresh fruit and freeze them. By freezing them you break down the cell structure, making it easier for the fruit to absorb the sugar.
If you use fresh fruit it can give an uneven taste because it doesn’t absorb the sugar as well as frozen fruit. This doesn’t only apply to strawberries, but all types of berries).

Blend the strawberries with the sugar and the vanilla seeds from the bean. Add the cream a little at a time (blender on medium).

Transfer the mixture to your ice cream maker and follow the instructions for your machine.

Or pour the mixture into a suitable container and place it in the freezer.
After about 2 hours take it out of the freezer and whisk it thoroughly.
Return it to the freezer for another hour and then whisk it again. Repeat this every hour, 3 more times.
The end result is very close to what you would get from an ice cream maker.

To “spice it up” you can add about 1½ oz (50 grams) of almonds, blend them in with the strawberries and sugar.

Serving suggestion:

Serve your strawberry ice cream on a plate with a fresh strawberry and orange salad.

Try a sauce or syrup with one of the strawberry ice cream recipes.
